Description: “Advent- the time to listen for footsteps.”- Advent assemblies by primary “Advent is a season of waiting, hope, and joyful anticipation.” The purpose of observing Advent is to prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a time marked by lighting the Advent candles, each symbolizing a special virtue that deepens our spiritual reflection during the weeks leading to Christmas. On 25 November, the students of Class 5 conducted the Advent Assembly on the theme Hope. They beautifully conveyed that hope is the light that guides us even in moments of uncertainty. To symbolize this, the purple candle of Hope was lit, reminding everyone that God’s promises bring strength and courage. On 26 November, Class 4 led the Assembly on the theme Peace. Their presentation emphasized that true peace comes from within—a gift of calmness and harmony that Advent calls us to nurture. The purple candle of Peace was lit, signifying serenity and the call to be peacemakers. On 27 November, Class 2 presented the Assembly on the theme Joy. The students highlighted that joy is a heartfelt celebration of God’s love and blessings. The pink candle of Joy, also known as the Gaudete candle, was lit to signify rejoicing and gratitude as we draw closer to Christmas. Finally, on 28 November, Class 2 again conducted the Assembly, this time on the theme Love. They expressed that love is the essence of the Advent season—a love that calls for kindness, compassion, and selfless giving. The purple candle of Love was lit, symbolizing God’s unconditional love for humanity. Throughout the week, a dedicated Prayer Box was placed in the school auditorium, allowing children to write their wishes, intentions, and messages of gratitude. During the final assembly, these heartfelt intentions were reverently burned, symbolizing the offering of their prayers to God. Overall, Advent week emerged as a deeply enriching observance that fostered gratitude, reflection and unity across the school community.
