Description: ‘Sparks of light, waves of delight- celebrating Deepawali bright’ Convent of Jesus and Mary, Chelsea celebrated the festival of lights, Deepawali with great exuberance and fervour on 17 October, 2025. The soft shimmer of lamps, the fragrance of fresh flowers, and the melody of devotion filled the air. With hearts aglow and spirits uplifted, the gathering awaited a day woven with culture, light, and divine celebration. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. A soulful prayer and hymn set a serene and devotional atmosphere, invoking blessings for peace and prosperity. The contemporary dance by the students of grade XII unfolded like a living painting, where students adorned in radiant costumes brought the epic Ramayana to life with grace and expression. Each gesture shimmered with devotion, each movement echoed divine rhythm. The stage glowed with celestial light as Rama’s triumph and Sita’s grace was beautifully portrayed, leaving the audience spellbound and awash with reverence. A thought-provoking speech on the significance of Deepawali illuminated the audience with reflections on the triumph of good over evil. Each phrase sparkled like a diya, inspiring all to embrace kindness, truth, and inner radiance as the true essence of the festival. The entire stage sparkled with flowers, decorations, and smiles, spreading the true spirit of Deepawali. Children were instructed to have a clean, eco friendly and green celebration, sans crackers and to buy indigenous products in order to support local craftsmanship. The celebration drew to a radiant close with a warm vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of teachers, students, and staff and the lingering fragrance of festivity and faith that made it truly memorable and thought provoking.
